If You Had a Magic Wand for Your Face…

Do you ever wish you had a magic wand to correct certain aspects about your facial features or complexion? At Ohio Plastic Surgery Specialists, we have many options of dermal fillers and injections to correct insecurities you may have about your face.
Correct Forehead Creases with Botox®
Forehead lines and creases can easily be corrected with Botox injections. Botox contains purified bacteria that freeze muscles. In doing so, Botox can help minimize the appearance of lines and wrinkles caused by facial expressions. Botox works by blocking nerve signals in the muscles where it is injected. When those nerve signals are interrupted, the affected muscle is temporarily paralyzed or frozen. Without the movement of these selected muscles in the face, certain wrinkles may be softened, reduced, or even removed. Botox only works on wrinkles that are caused by muscle movement. These are known as dynamic wrinkles, and are often called “expression lines.”
Enhance Cheeks with Restylane®
Restylane is a dermal filler that’s approved by the FDA for cheek augmentation, as well as to add volume to the mid-to-lower facial region. Restylane can also be used to fill out recesses and folds between the nose and mouth (otherwise known as nasolabial folds). Restylane is designed to provide the most youthful-looking results and is an excellent treatment option for candidates who have lost volume in the cheek regions. Restylane is injected deep into the cheek region, which adds immediate plumpness to the treatment area. The injections are carefully applied to encourage the most natural-looking contours possible. Restylane contains a thicker hyaluronic acid gel than most dermal fillers, which acts as scaffolding underneath depressed cheeks. The end result is natural-looking volume, as well as minimized wrinkles and folds.
Fuller, Longer Lashes with Latisse®
Latisse® eyelash enhancer is the first and only FDA-approved cosmetic treatment for increasing the length, thickness, and darkness of eyelashes. The Latisse® solution is applied at night. Your contact lenses and makeup should be removed before application. If you have other nightly skincare regimens, apply those products after applying Latisse® to your lashes. To prevent any contamination, the Latisse® solution is applied with a single-use disposable applicator. Always discard each applicator after one use. Re-using applicators, even just once the next evening, can cause serious problems, such as an eye infection or allergic reaction. Be sure to apply the solution carefully and blot any excess solution, since Latisse® may promote hair growth on other skin areas. To apply, put one drop of the Latisse® solution on a new applicator and apply to the base of the upper eyelid at the lash line. Do not apply to the lower lash line. Move the applicator from the inside of the lash line to the outside. A separate applicator is used for each eye. If contact lenses were removed, they can be put back in 15 minutes after Latisse® treatment.
Remove Wrinkles, Scars, and Age Spots with MicrolaserPeel™ and Laser Resurfacing
MicroLaserPeel™ is a laser peel that precisely removes a thin layer of skin. This treatment provides superior results because it is administered with great precision of depth. This treatment performed at our office will improve the patient’s skin texture, tone, and luminosity. Most skin areas on the body can be treated; popular areas are the face and neck. MicroLaserPeel™ causes little pain because it does not penetrate very deep into the skin. Depending on the depth of the treatment, most patients feel comfortable enough to return to work in 3 to 4 days. As a result of only the outer layer of the skin being treated, most patients notice obvious improvements in tone, texture and color evenness once the skin heals in approximately 3-4 days.
Laser Resurfacing utilizes a special kind of laser to improve the overall look of your skin. This laser procedure can treat fine lines, deep wrinkles, sun spots, and uneven skin tones and texture. Laser resurfacing is all about using beams of light. Your surgeon uses the laser to send short, concentrated pulsating beams of light at irregular skin. This removes unwanted, damaged skin in a very precise manner one layer at a time. People have reported seeing immediate results after the laser treatments. Results will continue to improve for up to a year. While the effects of laser resurfacing can last for many years, the normal aging process means that wrinkles and expression lines will reoccur. You may repeat laser resurfacing as necessary.
Plump Lips with Juvederm®
Juvederm® is made out of hyaluronic acid. This longer-lasting dermal filler gel can give your lips that fuller look for up to a year. Juvederm is biosynthetic and hypoallergenic as well. Juvederm® is an innovative dermal filler, designed to plump lips and restore a youthful appearance. As an important structural building block in the skin, hyaluronic acid is responsible for ramping up the body’s collagen production. The hyaluronic acid also naturally draws in water from the body, plumping tissues for long-term benefits. A Juvederm® treatment provides immediate volumizing to the lips while the body’s collagen stores are being rebuilt.
Get Rid of a Double Chin with KYBELLA®
KYBELLA® is the only FDA-approved injectable treatment that destroys fat cells in the treatment area under the chin to improve your profile. KYBELLA® is a prescription medicine used in adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat), also called “double chin.” The active ingredient in KYBELLA® is synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, KYBELLA® destroys fat cells, resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin. Once fat cells are destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired facial profile.
