truSculpt® iD
If you’ve been consistent with a healthy diet and exercise but still have stubborn areas of fat that you’d like to target, truSculpt® iD may be what you’ve been waiting for. This non-surgical, body-sculpting treatment allows you to personalize your ideal body in as little as one 15-minute treatment. This procedure is clinically proven to permanently eliminate fat cells in stubborn areas around your abdomen and flanks.
Unlike its competitors, truSculpt® iD delivers heat to the layer of fat while maintaining a comfortable temperature on the skin through a handheld applicator. This heat targets the fat cells and causes them to permanently die. Results can be seen between 6 and 12 weeks, and no downtime is required so patients can resume normal activities immediately. Liposuction
If you’ve committed to diet and exercise and still have areas of fat that won’t disappear and have decided that a surgical route will be best for you, liposuction may be the procedure for you. During lipo, Dr. Bernacki will make small incisions and insert a thin hollow tube to loosen excess fat then the fat is suctioned out with a vacuum or syringe.
Liposuction is often done on the stomach, hips and thighs, butt, knees, breast, chin and neck. Some patients are also interested in areas such as the calves and ankles or the back and arms which can also be sculpted as well. This procedure takes anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours depending on which areas are being done. Recovery takes about 2 weeks with results being fully visible in 6-12 weeks.
Abdominoplasty
An abdominoplasty or tummy tuck is a surgical procedure that can be done alone or with liposuction. During a tummy tuck excess skin is removed and abdominal muscles are tightened to create a tighter appearance. Tummy tucks are usually best for those who have given birth or individuals whose skin has become stretched after major weight loss either due to weight loss surgery, or diet and exercise.
The surgery can take 1-3 hours and recover can take anywhere from 4-6 weeks with 2 full weeks of downtime. After about 3 months, the swelling should be gone, and results will be visible. Each patient is different so work with your doctor to be sure you have realistic expectations and your healing process is going well.
